Welcome to Lexi Loves Handmade, I hope that you find pieces here that make you smile.

Designed in my home studio in West Sussex, with my ever present sidekicks, Basil and Sage, my two mini sausage dogs with impeccable style (and judgement, daxies are the kings and queens of the side-eye judgement!).

Lexi Loves Handmade started as a hobby to get back to my creative side, long forgotten in the battle of adulting and raising two gorgeous girls! I realised it had been 18 years since I picked up a paintbrush, so thought I would try a new medium to ease my way back. With encouraging feedback from family and friends, I thought I would share my designs and change up my normal!

The result, I have fallen in love with polymer clay jewellery designing. For me it opened up a world of possibilities, like many of you out there, I am allergic to anything that isn’t platinum or gold in my ears! So it has long ruled out the fun, quick wardrobe updates that I have envied others.

The other great thing I love about designing in polymer clay is how lightweight the designs are, no matter the size.  You can create something bold or delicate and classic, but your lobes stay put!

I use hypoallergenic fixings containing no zinc, only stainless steel or gold-plated stainless steel. I also leave the backs of my earrings with the raw clay as it has such a low reaction rate. A lot of polymer clay jewellery designers add a resin backing to their earrings, but (you guessed it) I react to this too.
